...and anyone who rolled-over for this latest example of blackmail from the very people who helped create the economic nightmare this nation is immersed in needs to be voted out of office!!! I'm not kiddin' you...and when you read this story, your blood will BOIL, too!
TOTAL BULLSH**!!!
"Senate bill to help builders and homeowners: Under pressure to address the housing market meltdown, the Senate on Thursday passed a bipartisan aid package for builders and distressed homeowners, but the bill faces opposition from the House as being too generous to business. The 84-12 Senate vote comes as congressional committees work on broader Democratic measures to provide hundreds of billions of dollars to help homeowners refinance into more affordable mortgages. The Senate action comes as home prices plunge, and economists say more than 2 million families are in danger of foreclosure."
This article is so-riddled with spin-doctored examples of how WE, American homeowners and taxpayers, CONTINUE to be screwed by the idiots we have elected, and continue to re-elect!
The fix is in...when are YOU going to get angry enough to vote these backstabbing clowns out, anyway? The investment banks, the mortgage companies and now, the builders who helped create this economic nightmare are getting financial breaks while distressed homeowners continue to dangle in the wind prior to getting slaughtered and evicted.
SOMETHING has got to change: What are you going to do about it?
Another sign that apathy is the #1 disease afflicting America/Part II:
"Goldman CEO says "say on pay" a bad idea: Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein, who received about $70 million of compensation last year by some counts, said on Thursday that shareholder votes on executive pay would constrain the board and hurt the investment bank's ability to attract the best employees.
So-called "say on pay" initiatives, which allow shareholders to provide a nonbinding approval or rejection of a board's proposed pay package for senior executives, have become a hot topic among shareholder groups, pensions and other large investors focused on corporate governance issues."
Who's in charge here? It's obvious that in addition to our self-dealing lawmakers in Washington, the blue-blood a**holes running these Wall Street investment companies like Goldman Sachs who are world-class experts at and subsequently, shareholder equity and John Q. Public's property values into the ground, that's who.

Another sign that apathy is the #1 disease afflicting America/Part III:
"Stocks may fall, but execs' pay doesn't: KB Home (KBH) had an abysmal year, losing $929 million on revenue of $6.4 billion. Shareholders also suffered from the home builder's anemic performance, as the company's share price dropped from $53 last February to the high teens by November. But CEO Jeffrey Mezger weathered the storm. In addition to his $1 million base salary, he was awarded a $6 million cash bonus for 2007. In explaining the bonus, the board of KB Home said Mezger exceeded the objectives set for him, which included strengthening the company's balance sheet and rebuilding the senior management team.
"This shouldn't be like the fourth-grade soccer team, where everybody gets a trophy," says Nell Minow, editor at The Corporate Library, a governance research firm. "This is the big time. This is why they pay these guys the big bucks."
Do they ever. A USA TODAY review of CEO pay for 50 of the largest companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 showed the median compensation last year was $15.7 million. The analysis includes data for companies that filed their proxies by the end of March. And as KB Home illustrates, smaller companies also compensate their CEOs very well." Think about the Tuskegee Airmen Experiment the next time you take an ambulance ride: Incredible advice and a warni ng that you’d better pay attention to or YOU—or a family member or friend—could end up as part of a medical experiment!

"University of Iowa scientists seek marijuana smokers for pot study: A group of University of Iowa scientists is looking for marijuana smokers to help gain insight into the drug's effects. And they plan to pay subjects as much as $600 to smoke their pot. The study examines how marijuana affects brain function and cognition, with particular attention to the duration of use and the age of first use. The measure is brain imaging studies and achievement tests, such as for math and verbal skills."

Speaking of smoking pot, I think they should drug-test the Plaintiff in this case:
"Homeowners' Suit Against Real Estate Agent Goes To Court: Woman Says She Overpaid During Housing Boom A San Diego County woman who says she paid too much for her $1.2 million home during the height of the housing boom is taking her case to court. Jury selection got under way on Tuesday in the case of Vernon and Marty Ummel versus Mike Little. The couple alleges Little, their real estate agent, defrauded them when he failed to inform them that similar houses on the same block were selling for more than $175,000 less than the final sales price."

NostraDover first warned you that these were coming months ago, so it's time to remind ourselves once again that "if it sounds too good to be true..."
"Troubled U.S. homeowners fall prey to 'rescue' scams: Among the byproducts of the U.S. housing crisis is a surge in scams that cheat people out of their money, their homes, or both, under the guise of offering to rescue them from foreclosure. "There is a lot of money to be made if you are good at committing fraud," said Debra Zimmerman, an attorney at Los Angeles-based Bet Tzedek Legal Services, which provides free legal assistance to stricken homeowners. "Foreclosure rescue scams are big business right now."

I'll betcha Joe Friday and Bill Gannon never had to worry about this during their years with L.A.P.D. Have you had any run-ins with the men in blue that you thought were...well...unfair? Here's your chance to have your voice heard: A new website that let's you rate the cops!
"Inspired by the many Web sites that allow users to rate their teachers, their doctors, even their neighbors, a couple from Culver City (CA) have created one that allows people to rate police officers and sheriff’s deputies across the country. Some law enforcement officials, though, strongly object to the site, arguing that it exposes officers to resentment and reprisal and vowing to pursue legislation to block it."
Quit yer whinin'! No...you DIDN'T signal back there...so read the rest of the story before you rat 'em out on the website.
If you've gotta Discover Card in your wallet, you're going to be getting a blast from plastic from the past! I didn't think this card was much of a factor anymore, but apparently the folks at Discover do! They just made a deal to absorb the first credit card of them all, as a means of expanding their overseas business.
Now all you've gotta do is get your credit limits paid back down so you'll be able to run 'em back up with your new Diners Club card later this summer! Read the rest of the story here, Rockefeller...
By the way, if you're one of the few remaining blessed to have either good credit or cash...and are looking for some deals on finding foreclosed property, I think you're gonna want to read this:
"Build Your Own Foreclosure Heat Maps: I am sure when the founders of HotPads came up with their website business, the idea was to tap into the red-hot housing market. Sadly, things have changed and now the word “hot” has a whole new meaning. Hotpads is a free service that lets you compare rentals and homes for sale in many top US cities. Even more interesting is the site’s heatmap feature."
